The main requirement was to make it easy to secure the ring in those instances where time matters-- he would rarely have time to take the pendant off to attach the ring. My solution was a magnet catch with an added ball hinge clasp as a back-up. The pendant is all sterling silver with one brass ball bearing as an added kinetic element. The ball bearing can be seen between the two vertical bars coming up from the bottom of the piece. This measures about 1 1/4" in diameter by 1 5/8" tall.
